By Punch, September 20, 2009 @ 5:17 AM
This fight s*ck… the promoter giving edge to mayweather. why can’t they be strict to “fra*d” mayweather. coming 2 pounds overweight to wight limit… refusing to weigh-in in fight night. lol… what does mayweather going to prove he beat marquez ba*y… he should coz the fight is not even fair since from the start.
By punch LOL, September 20, 2009 @ 5:57 AM
hey punch. ur so da** st**id and a c**t. the weight limit is 147, marquez is 144, floyd is 146..
do the math buddy!

hey punch LOL, ur so da** st**id and a c**t. the “catch weight” limit is 144 (not 143 as this article states). PBF weighed 2 pounds over which cost him $600,000 fat. Marquez was 142. Get your facts straight before you go dissin other people. You dig?!

It’s unanimous. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. wins. Mayweather has defeated Juan Manuel Marquez. Mayweather won the match.

even if marquez lost the fight, i will be a marquez fan all the way. i admire his courage to face a loudmouth mayweather. his downfall will come sooner or later, i am 100% sure of that.

A boring fight not worth for a pound for pound boxer.
By Rolando Cataylo, September 20, 2009 @ 6:00 PM
Mayweather won by waiting for his tiny opponent’s mistakes and only then when he attacked. Another typical Mayweather boring fight.
By Nelson, September 21, 2009 @ 3:33 AM
well ,, i don’t care if Mayweather won on this match theres no doubt that Mayweather can bring down Marquez because he’s lack of aggressiveness. A poor counter puncher will not win on that kind of opponent. I’m looking forward for Pacquiao, i know he can do even better rather than Marquez…

boo!

Give me my $50 back, you rip-offs…i didn’t pay to watch a ballroom dance all night, with some slapin once in a while, i paid to see a fight!!! BORING!!!!
Mayweather was a cheater, he doesn’t really fight fair. Even though he’s record has no blemish, he’s even worse than the least fighter in the division. Yes, he’s fast, but he’s chicken to fight fair, coward enough not to engage and just run away all night…..he’s just out of the league compared to great fighters like Mike Tyson, Dela Hoya, Shane Mosley, even Marquez and Pacquiao….
By swagg maker, September 21, 2009 @ 8:40 PM
your a d*mb a*s jesie mayweather is the best fighter out there in his weight division 7 time world champ b**ch

Yes, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. indeed proved that he’s back and that he’s near the top of boxing’s food chain once again. He outclassed a very game Marquez and thoroughly showed that he was at a different level by dismantling the Mexican fighter, getting more than half of his punches in, and showing impeccable defense.
But I believe that it’s too early to say that he’s once again back to his top P4P throne because Marquez was an awful fighter that night. Though Mayweather was insanely “good”, Marquez’s terrible showing made him appear insanely “great”.
Juan Manuel Marquez was biting off more than he could chew in terms of Mayweather’s towering skill, speed, size, and defense. Marquez, apart from being slower, older, and weaker, lacked the following, which further led to his downfall:
1. Head movement – His face was always a sitting duck for Mayweather’s hands.
2. Good footwork/movement – He didn’t show different angles to Mayweather. Heck, he didn’t move much at all and coupled with no head movement, made him a non-moving target for a very fast and accurate Mayweather.
3. Mix-up of combinations – At any one time, he either chose to go to the head or to the body. He didn’t mix combinations and his attack was thus very predictable for the defense of Mayweather.
All of these, I believe, would be taken care of by Manny Pacquiao and his great trainer and tactician, Freddie Roach. Pacquiao is like a bobblehead with his head movement, extremely elusive as he showed with his fight against Oscar dela Hoya, and mixes up his combinations very well, especially with his unparalleled hand speed.
Pacquiao-Mayweather will be one of, if not the greatest fight in all of boxing and will once and for all prove who the #1 P4P boxer of this generation is!

Hey!!! Where do I can find the video? tsk.. I haven’t see it yet…
By Rolando Cataylo, September 25, 2009 @ 9:08 AM
I remember Bruce Lee’s Kung Fu when asked what his style was, he said that “It is The Art of Fighting Without Fighting.” Mayweather is good >75% avoiding and 25% fighting, and it was effective.
By Rolando Cataylo, September 25, 2009 @ 9:12 AM
Lackluster fight, not the kind of boxing one expects of a pound for pound title holder.
