Perseid Meteor Shower On August 12 2009

The annual Perseid Meteor Shower will take place on August 12, 2009 according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). In the Philippines, hundreds of meteors shower per hour can be observed at night on August 12 while in the U.S., the shower peaks early afternoon and late evening. The Perseids gets its name from the constellation Perseus because meteors seem to spread out from an area surrounding the constellation. This is called the shower’s radiant.
